Reminder: There will be a quiz on food chains, food webs, and ecological pyramids Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019. I will post a practice "quizizz" by Monday night!
Reminder: There will be a quiz on relationships in nature on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. Our first notebook check is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25, 2019.
Reminder: Texas Invasive Species Project is due Monday, Sept. 23, 2019. A link for it is under Class Notes.
Reminder: Unit 1 Ecology Exam is scheduled for Oct. 1, 2019! A copy of the review and practice quizizz is under the class notes tab.
Evidence of Common Ancestry project/assessment is Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019. This will be counted as a major grade. Practice Quizlet under Class Notes page.
Mechanisms of Evolution quiz will be Wednesday, October 22. Practice quizizz will be posted the night before.
Notebook check will be Monday, October 28. UNIT 2 EVOLUTION EXAM will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019.
Biomolecules One Pager will be due Monday, November 11, 2019 for a quiz grade!!
Also, Biomolecules and Enzymes Exam will be on Thursday, November 14, 2019.
There will be a QUIZ on types of cells, organelles, and cell transport on December 6, 2019. UNIT 3 PART 1 Exam will be on December 13, 2019 and will cover Biomolecules, Cells, and Viruses!!
Extra Credit Biology Christmas Ornaments are due by Thursday, December 12 :)
Final Exams are this week (December 18-20). On the following links you can find the final exam schedule, practice quizizz, and study guide from your journal. Best advice: Study all review packets from each unit!!
Second Semester
Welcome Back!! Happy 2020! We will be having a quiz on the Cell Cycle (including Mitosis) on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Unit 3 Part 2A Exam will be on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 and will cover the Cell Cycle, Mitosis, Cancer, and Cell Differentiation.
Reminder: Cell Cycle Stop Motion Project is due by midnight on Tuesday, 1/21!! This is a major grade!
Reminder: Cancer and the Cell Cycle One pager is due MONDAY, January 27, 2020. This is a quiz grade!! Also, Unit 3 Part 2A exam will be on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.
Photosynthesis, Cellular Respiration, and Plant Systems quiz will be on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.
Notebook check will be on Tuesday, February 18 and will include both Unit 3 Part 2A and B materials. Also, Unit 3 Part 2B Exam will be on Friday, February 21 and will cover Cell Cycle (including Mitosis), Cancer, Cell differentiation, Levels of Organization, Photosynthesis & Cellular Respiration, Plant Systems and Body Systems!!
DNA & DNA replication quiz will be on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.
Unit 4 Part 1: DNA, RNA, and Protein Synthesis exam will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2020!
March 14, 2020: Good Morning All! I know that you all have heard about Comal ISD extending spring break a week due to Covid-19. As we are waiting to here more, I found a great interactive about the spread of the virus throughout the world that I think would be interesting for you all to check out if you are interested! This is not mandatory.

We are waiting to hear our next steps as far as online teaching, please stay safe and healthy and enjoy the extra time with your family :)
3/19/20 I hope everyone is staying healthy and sane during this break! As you know, school is cancelled until April 3, with school resuming on April 6. As of today, the district made a Home Learning Opportunities page that is completely voluntary (link will be below). Please be on the lookout for further information next week! Miss you all!
